KHBT

KHBT is a creative studio set up by Karsten Huneck and Bernd Trümpler in London and Berlin. KHBT has consistently created spatial works of local and international significance which are published widely as well as winning various awards such as the prestigious Young Architect Of The Year Award (YAYA) in 2009 where KHBT was gaining the first ever ‘special commendation’ in the competitions history. Karsten and Bernd are also partners of the experimental architectural network osa_office for subversive architecture which acts as a platform for spatial research that feeds into the practice. Over 15 years of experience in architecture working at Foster and Partners amongst others on major projects, 25 years of spatial experimentation in the urban context with osa – office for subversive architecture, and 10 years of teaching at various universities. KHBT follows with a unique design process of progressive refinement towards the goal of defining the essential. On Landscape Together KHBT will design an artwork for a small village in Pedrógão Grande, Portugal, using the community engagement methodology tested by MAG in that pilot territory. KHBT contributes to the development of the Model of Community-based Sustainable Development through their expertise in artwork creation with participatory processes: project development of artwork creation, management of all phases of the project – from analysis to installation - with participatory activities in the pilot territory. KHBT will also contribute with professional and academic know-how, in the field of architecture, artistic creation based on participatory processes, site analysis, installation of the artwork in the landscape of the pilot territory. The process development will be part of an exhibition and workshops in Berlin with KHBT network, namely the Berlin International University of Applied Science (BAU) as well as other creatives from the city.
