The exhibition Landscape Together – Centro Interior Villages to get Territorial Communities brings together a synthesis of the work developed between 2023 and 2025 within the Design Studios ID and IID of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Architecture at the University of Coimbra, coordinated by Adelino Gonçalves and Margarida Relvão Calmeiro.

Developed within the framework of the University of Coimbra’s participation in the European project Landscape Together and in continuity with the path initiated by Experimenta Paisagem, the exhibition presents territorial proposals and strategies designed for different localities within the Experimenta Paisagem Urban Network, namely Pedrógão Grande, Pedrógão Pequeno, Cunqueiros, Segura and Salvaterra do Extremo.

Grounded in a research-action approach, the works explore the potential of architecture, landscape and territorial design as instruments for enhancing local resources, strengthening territorial cohesion and building more resilient, cooperative and territorially integrated communities.

More than presenting isolated architectural projects, the exhibition proposes an integrated reading of the territory, articulating landscape, heritage, public space, local development, production, tourism, housing and territorial cooperation. The students’ proposals are framed within local development strategies developed in the Design Studios, treating architecture as a critical and operative instrument for territorial transformation.

The exhibition also documents the working process developed over two academic years, marked by study visits, fieldwork, and meetings with communities, municipalities, and local stakeholders, reflecting a method based on listening, cooperation, direct contact with places, and the collective construction of territorial strategies for Portugal’s Centro Interior,

The European project Landscape Together expanded the international dimension of the work initiated by Experimenta Paisagem, deepening the dialogue among territory, art, architecture, community and local development in a European context.

As a travelling exhibition, it will circulate across the localities and municipal centres involved in the work presented, beginning its journey in Pedrógão Grande on 1 June 2026.
