As part of the implementation of signage for the new trails at the Experimenta Paisagem Museum (MEP), MAG conducted a series of visits and interviews with experts in Salvaterra do Extremo on 19 December, exploring the border landscapes and collecting local memories. Accompanied by Carlos Neto from the Tejo Internacional Natural Park, they visited Peñafiel Castle in Zarza la Mayor, deepening their understanding of the evolution of the landscape and the relationship between Zarza and Salvaterra.
During the visits, local residents were interviewed and shared their memories and traditional knowledge: Lurdes recalled the paths to the Erges River to fetch water and wash clothes; Alice spoke about the lives of women on the river and João Bicho described the construction of huts, traditional shelters made of branches and leaves. These stories will be selected and integrated into the trail associated with the new artwork in Salvaterra do Extremo.
The visit also included observing the development of the work by Atelier Yok Yok and the construction of the prototype, integrating local knowledge and creative processes into the project.
